More than 100 companies from the district are due to attend a big business event in Harborough on Monday.

The Harborough Business Expo – the first of its kind for two years – is taking place at Harborough Market in Northampton Road from 1pm until 5pm this Monday.

It is being organised by the Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce and was this week on course to attract more than 100 district business owners.

As well as more than 30 business trade stands on show, offering advice and ideas to local firms, there will also be a number of surprise attractions promised.

One exhibitor has booked a photographer to take pictures of attendees that can then be used for their social media website profiles.

And another bonus on the day will be county magician John Constantine, who will be performing close-up magic.

He has worked at many large corporate venues across the UK including a recent event with former The Apprentice contestant Raef Bjajou

“I hope that my appearance will highlight how magic can be used at everything from birthday parties to business trade shows,” said Mr Constantine.

The event will be the first business-to-business trade show to take place at Harborough’s indoor market hall.

The aim of the event is to encourage closer collaboration between the many businesses in the district.

It is free to attend and is open to all companies in the area.

The town’s chamber ran a similar event at The Three Swans Hotel in 2013, which was very well attended.

The chamber is hoping to repeat that success at the market this year.

Although the event is designed for businesses, everybody is welcome to make a visit, including people thinking of setting up their own ventures in the future.

Free registration for the event and further details are available at the website
