A new panto twist on Swan Lake story

Rehearsals and planning arewell underway for the Last Minute Theatre group’s upcoming pantomime in the district.

The Kibworth-based amateur drama group is performing its latest panto production The Swan Princess (The Story of Swan Lake) later this month

Hang on, that’s not a pantomime? Oh yes it is!

Written and directed by member Mig Rawnsley, it follows the lovely leading lady Lavender, as she falls in love with an Elfin prince, then gets turned into a beautiful Swan by the evil Hemlock and his three wicked-witch daughters. And then she gets her happily ever after.

The production is being billed as “pantomime fun for all the family” and is taking place at Kibworth Grammar School Hall in School Road, Kibworth Beauchamp.

It is being performed on Saturday, January 24, Friday, January 30, and Saturday, January 31, all at 7.30pm.

There are also matinee showings at 2.30pm on Saturday, January 24, Sunday, January 25, and Saturday, January 31.

Tickets cost £5 for the matinee performances and £6 for evening shows.
