Lines have now re-opened after Network Rail engineers replaced the cables - but East Midlands Railway is warning of residual delays.

A spokesperson said: “There will be congestion in the area as a result of earlier line closure and trains and crew are out of place. We are working to get trains running to their times again but we expect this to take several hours.”
