Popular gardens in and around Harborough are now open to the public

The much-loved outdoors venues are all part of Leicestershire National Garden Scheme and are set to attract hundreds if not thousands of visitors

Popular gardens in and around Market Harborough are to be opened during June and July.

The much-loved outdoors venues are all part of Leicestershire National Garden Scheme and are set to attract hundreds if not thousands of visitors.

Stoke Albany House on Desborough Road in Stoke Albany, near Market Harborough, will be open every Wednesday until Wednesday July 29.

The attraction boasts a beautiful four-acre garden with sweeping lawns and herbaceous borders.

During June and July these borders will be at their best along with the stunning rose collection.

There is also a Nepeta walk within a rose arch, parterre with box and more roses and a Mediterranean garden. Around the garden there are also some lovely sculptures.

This is one of Leicestershire’s larger gardens allowing for picnics.

Westbrook House at 52 Scotland Road, Little Bowden, opens on Sunday July 5.

Comprising six aces of garden, it’s approached by a lovely tree-lined driveway of mature limes and redwoods.

There is a walled flower garden, walled kitchen garden, lower garden, pond area, spring garden, lawns, woodland paths and a meadow with a wild flower area, ha-ha and hornbeam avenue.

Neville Holt Hall on Drayton Road, Nevill Holt, near Market Harborough, opens on Sunday July 5.

It’s another large garden in which picnics are permitted. The attraction is part of the 13th century estate of Nevill Holt.

And it features a spectacular garden, including several walled gardens with a kitchen garden, colourful planting and fantastic art and sculptures.
