A popular farm park near Market Harborough has won a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award 2020, putting it in the top 10 per cent of attractions across the globe.

Mini Meadows Farm, a 12-acre site in Welford, on the border of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, gained the accolade after attracting hundreds of excellent reviews from customers.

The farm park was just a field in 2008, but is now a hugely popular attraction for families and schools who visit from across the country.

It boasts a diverse range of large and small farm animals that visitors can feed and pet, plus indoor and outdoor play areas.

There is also a café, reservoir walk and the opportunity to take part in seasonal events, which include a sell-out Halloween pumpkin patch and Christmas Experience.

Ben Barraclough, founder and owner, said: “We really love what we do at the farm, and I’m proud that our team has the recognition for delivering a great experience for our loyal customers.

“This year has been really difficult for obvious reasons, but our customers came back as soon as we reopened with all the new safety guidelines in place, which we really appreciate.

“I would like to give a huge thank you to everyone that has been to visit us, taken the time to leave a review, and especially for supporting us through these difficult times.”

Only attractions that earn consistently great user reviews on TripAdvisor are awarded the Travelers’ Choice Award.

“Winners of the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” said Kanika Soni, chief commercial officer at TripAdvisor.

“Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements.”
