Bishop is guest for church jubilee

Market Harborough’s St Hugh’s Church, in Granville Street, was celebrating its 50th anniversary 25 years ago this week.

A special commemoration service was held to mark the milestone on February 11, 1990, which was attended by the then Bishop of Leicester, the Rt Rev Richard Rutt (who retired in 1991). Pictured with him are, from left, reader Eric Buswell, server Gerald Hawke, rector the Canon Jim Seaton, reader Rosalie Oakley and alter boys Tim Brotheton and Neil Webb. The picture was first used in the Mail on February 15, 1990.
