Cllr Lee Breckon, the county council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “The new year is a time where people make pledges to get fitter and improve their health.

“Quitting smoking is a great place to start.

“We hope people across the county will take advantage of the free support that is on offer and use the new year as an opportunity to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime.”

The weight management service offers lifestyle tips that can fit into daily routines straight away.

The team offers expert advice on nutrition and exercise to people struggling to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

The Quit Ready stop-smoking service offers a range of support.

That stretches through a 12-week programme to becoming a non-smoker as well as an online calculator to see how much money you will save.
