Police are investigating a possible cyber attack on a Harborough secondary school.

The incident happened over the weekend and affected the Welland Park Academy's remote learning system.

Principal Julie McBrearty said there was disruption to Microsoft Teams, emails and the learning platform, Edulink.

She added: "The school has been working with Leicestershire Police Cyber Crime unit.

"There is an ongoing investigation and remote learning will be relaunched once the police have completed their work on site.

"I really appreciate the patience and support of students and staff as we continue to work with the police.

"We have sent students links to learning sources on other platforms and will be looking to relaunch our remote learning schedule as soon as possible."
