A Harborough secondary school is poised to join a growing multi-academy trust in 2021.
The Kibworth School is hoping to become part of the Leicester-based Mead Educational Trust, which is made up of 10 schools in the city.
The Smeeton Road school, which has about 850 students, will be the Trust’s fourth secondary school if the blueprint is backed by the Department for Education.
Headteacher Emma Merry said they wanted to join the Mead Educational Trust to 'help improve the quality of education for pupils, share expertise and create exciting new opportunities for youngsters, staff and the entire community'.
