English and Maths courses for the spring are free. Up to the end of January, there’s 10 per cent off other classes too.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire County Council, who run the courses, said: "Depending on what you learn, your new skill could give you confidence in everyday life, help you get a job, enable you to assist your children with their homework, give you a new hobby or make you the language master on your next holiday!

"And of course, you get to meet new people in a relaxed learning atmosphere that’s very different from school."
