Drivers are having problems trying to buy tickets at misfiring pay and display machines in Harborough District Council car parks.

A council spokesman said: “We are experiencing some intermittent technical issues, beyond our control, with pay and display machines not accepting card payments.”

The authority apologised to motorists for “any inconvenience”.

“You can pay by cash, via the Pay by Phone app, by calling 01858 426906 or at http://paybyphone.co.uk,” said the spokesman.
