One of Market Harborough’s best-known shops has shut down in a serious blow to the town centre.

Four members of staff have lost their jobs after the Edinburgh Woollen Mill store on The Square has closed.

The high-profile nationwide chain is being brought out of administration following months of business turmoil amid the Covid crisis.

But the well-established branch in Market Harborough is unfortunately not one of the company’s 240 outlets being saved across the UK.

Meanwhile, the future of fellow clothes shop Peacocks, one of the group’s other brands and based on the town’s High Street, is still in huge doubt as it remains in administration.
