Independent opticians looking forward to finally holding its open day after its move to Kibworth
They were not able to celebrate at the time as the Covid-19 crisis hit the UK and the country was locked down
A local independent opticians is gearing up to stage a special open day – just over a year after they moved into a Harborough village.
Edmonds and Slatter are looking forward to welcoming villagers to the event after they opened their fourth branch on the High Street in Kibworth Harcourt in early 2020.
They were not able to celebrate at the time as the Covid-19 crisis hit the UK and the country was locked down.
But the opticians have continued to offer emergency eye care and eyewear services to key workers, vulnerable residents and anyone else needing urgent support throughout the pandemic.
Practice manager Emma Sturgess and her team are now busy setting up their open day on Saturday June 26 to say a big hello to local people.
“We are looking forward to meeting and greeting the residents of Kibworth and being able to show them everything Edmonds and Slatter has to offer,” said Emma.
“It will be an exciting day with full collections of designer spectacle frames displayed alongside nibbles and drinks in the practice.”
Callum Parkinson, the vice-captain of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, is being invited to officially open the practice.
The business will have a giveaway scratch card promotion running.
They will also be holding a raffle to support their charity of the year, The Bodie Hodges Foundation – which gets behind bereaved families.
The raffle will include a signed Leicestershire County Cricket Club shirt along with other top prizes.
