The first business is moving into a new £8 million commercial hub in Market Harborough.

Krypton IT Solutions are being welcomed into the Harborough Grow-on Centre at Compass Point Business Park, off Northampton Road.

The positive move is being seen as a clear sign that the town’s economy is already starting to bounce back following the devastating coronavirus lockdown.

The state-of-the-art Harborough District Council complex could create 230 jobs and pump £20 million into the local economy over the next five years.

The Grow-On Centre boasts flexible office suites ranging in size from 500 sq ft up to 2,100 sq ft.

Several more companies are now discussing accommodation options and lease terms with the council.

“This is a strong indication that Harborough district’s robust economy is showing really positive signs of regrowth after the challenges of Covid-19,” said the council.

The Grow-on Centre is a new energy-efficient, high specification office building designed for dynamic and growing small and medium-sized businesses.

Darren Shaw, sales director at Krypton IT Solutions, said: “We’re very excited to be opening a new branch in Market Harborough at the newly-opened Grow-on Centre due to our continued growth.

“It is great to be the first company in the building.”

Cllr Phil King, who leads the council, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Krypton IT Solutions as first tenants in the Harborough Grow-on Centre.

“This move, together with the success of businesses and town centres reopening across the district, is a huge step forward in the recovery of our district.”

Kevin Skipworth, head of commercial property for Andrew Granger & Co, sole letting agent for the new business hub, said: “It’s very clear to see why the Harborough Grow-on Centre has received so much interest.

“It’s fantastic to see the first tenant move into the building given the challenges faced this year.

“We look forward to helping more tenants find the right office space for them in this ideal facility.”

The Grow-On Centre stands on the south side of Market Harborough, opposite the town’s leisure centre and swimming pool where tenants can benefit from a corporate discount.

A stunning range of original artwork from Harborough Artists Cluster is on display, lighting up the centre, and is available to buy.

The striking venue also features showers, electric parking points and high-tech glazing which cuts heat loss and solar gain.

“The centre provides first class space for the modern, dynamic businesses looking for an attractive setting with cosmopolitan reach,” said the council.

Harborough District Council ploughed in £3,620,612 to fund the commercial scheme with another £3,282,500 being ploughed in by the European Regional Development Fund and £987,833 chipped in from Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership.
