A revue showis being staged with a dual purpose of entertainment and fundraising for a musical theatre company based in Lutterworth.

She’s The One by Lutterworth Musical Theatre Company is a journey through musical theatre with a Valentine’s theme.

The show will take the audience on a romantic roller coaster just days before the romantic February calender date.

There will be some wellknown songs from musical theatre shows such as Fiddler on the Roof and South Pacific.

Among the romantic classics will be some lesser-known songs including The Last Five Years and Avenue Q.

Some of the songs will be group numbers, giving chorus members the opportunity to showcase their vocal skills in small groups.

The storyline of the revue follows the staff and one particular customer at a romantic cosy restaurant in the Leicestershire countryside.

It tells the story through the music of love, happiness and loss.

The performance is taking place at The Piano Room in Bitteswell, Lutterworth this Sunday.

It will be raising funds for the group’s musical comedy, the Witches of Eastwick, which they will be staging in October.

Lutterworth Musical Theatre Company started life as Lutterworth Opera Group.

Their recent productions have included Jesus Christ Superstar in 2010 and Oliver in 2013, which received high praise in reviews.

The production at the Piano Room starts at 7.30pm.

There will be seating in cabaret-style table format and a bar will be open.

Tickets for the show can be purchased from the box office by calling 07891 903854 or through the group’s website at www.lmtc.org.uk.

The company is also looking for new members interested in being involved with the group. In particular they are seeking directors, musical directors, choreographers and producers.

The company prides itself on being a very friendly group which is passionate about musical theatre and keeping it alive for amateurs while producing a high-quality show.

All main parts are auditioned for and people are chosen by how right they are for the role, rather than how long they have been with the group.

There are never auditions for the chorus, all newcomers are most welcome.

To find out more, visit the group’s website at www.lmtc.org.uk.
