YOUNGSTERS from Market Harborough RFC were part of a memorable ‘Parade of Champions’ at last weekend’s Aviva Premiership Rugby Final in front of a sell-out Twickenham crowd.

Sponsors gave the special opportunity to the lads after they won the under-12 Leicester Tigers Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup.

The rugby starlets got to watch the exciting battle where Harlequins were crowned Aviva Premiership champions.

Not only did they get to see their heroes play at the home of England rugby but they got to parade around the pitch at half-time to celebrate their Land Rover Cup win.

The team’s excitement on the day was clear and youngster Henry Povoas said: “I can’t believe I went to Twickenham and got to go on the pitch at half-time of the Aviva Premiership Final.

“It was really exciting to walk out there in front of so many people, it was an amazing atmosphere and I now really want to play there when I’m older. I’m so pleased we won the cup.”

Land Rover’s Laura Schwab said: “It gives us great delight that through the cup these young, aspiring players are able to fulfil a dream and come to Twickenham.

“The tournament is a significant initiative of which we are very proud, and which provides a unique opportunity for young players to channel their enthusiasm for the sport and to play in a national tournament. We are committed to supporting the development of the young players of the future.”

The Harborough youngsters won their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when the team took part in a series of games which concluded in an exciting final against a strong outfit from Nottingham RFC.
