AHEAD of this weekend’s Aviva Premiership final at Twickenham, Leicester Tigers’ Martin Castrogiovanni celebrated with Harborough RFC under-13s at their annual player awards dinner.

Parents and players converged on Timo restaurant to honour another season with on and off-pitch success. The side won more games than they lost, gained eight new recruits and landed the Syston Sevens Plate winners.

Lead coach Russell Boa said: “These players have great team spirit and showed that individual commitment to a group effort is what makes a team work whilst playing and socialising.” He also thanked retiring coaches David Knight and Paul Ayton for their support and efforts over many years.

‘Castro’ presented awards to Tom Sanderson - most improved player, joint winners Harry Wells and Sam Grahamslaw - players’ player, Huw Williams - clubman of the year and Joe Price - voted player of the year.
