On tour...some of the Harborough RFC under-13s party.

A SIXTY-STRONG party comprising players and parents representing Market Harborough under-13s have returned from a successful tour to the Isle of Wight.

The first half of the tour weekend was activity day when the group enjoyed the thrills and spills of mountain boarding, archery and finally beach-launched sea kayaking.

That was followed in the evening by hearty singing and dancing featuring a local band.

Sunday was game day and all the Harborough players turned out against the local junior side Vectis RFC, who were superb hosts throughout.

Playing with a mixed side, Harborough were convincing winners captained by Matt Carter with tries from JJ Xia, Joseph Bullock, Sam Grahamslaw, Finley Quaid, James Knight and Harry Bishop and conversions from Huw Williams, with a final combined score of 12-45.

Vectis were presented with a commemorative plaque for their clubhouse and special thanks were expressed for their hospitality.
