Academy’s rugby sides reach finals
Rugby sides from Welland Park Academy have made it to county finals.
The Year 9s defeated Brookvale College 35-5 to reach the final of the County Plate last month.
The result was followed a few days later by the Year 8 team beating Market Bosworth 25-5 to get to the final of the County Cup.
The finals will be played at Loughborough RFC on Thursday, March 7.
Parent Chris Lawton said: “These are fantastic achievements and credit must be given Mr Button (head of PE) and his colleagues.”
