New mum Holman has enough firepower to ease Oshas to narrow victory

THE first game of the day in the latest round of Market Harborough Netball Legaue matches saw Skillspoint pitched against Oshas.

The first quarter was really tight with Skillspoint coming out top with 8 goals to 7 due to excellent play from centre Rachel Bohannan.

Oshas came out fighting for the second quarter, taking it to 15-12 with the reliable defending from Ged Coles.

Skillspoint were not going to give up, however, and drew the third quarter thanks to brilliant shooting from Kate Holman, only just back from having a baby.

But it wasn’t enough and Oshas won the game 30-25.

The other two games of the day were Farndon Foods v The Angel and Royalist v RCL.

The game between Farndon Foods and The Angel was a one-sided match from the start due to The Angel only having five players to start with.

Farndon had built up a 25-9 lead by half-time due to impressive shooting from Georgie Weaver.

The Angel didn’t give up, however, with excellent play from goal attack Hannah Page, but Farndon were too strong and won 51-21.

The last game between Royalist and RCL was always going to be a hard-fought game with both teams full of experienced players.

RCL came out the better team in the first quarter, winning it 10 goals to 8 but Royalist hit back and won the second quarter with good defending from Laura Wilkinson at wing defence.

RCL weren’t going to let them run away with the game and reliable shooting from goal attack Francesca Wilkinson helped them to a 55-40 victory.
