A LONG trek to Swadlincote ended in disappointment for Harborough Dynamos as they lost to the host club’s ‘A’ team.
After losing their previous two games, Dynamos were keen to get a positive result from this fixture.
They got off to a strong start as Byron Wing and Nathanael Yousuf scored 13 of the 15 quarter points.
However, Swadlincote were able to find ways of scoring themselves and the quarter finished 12-15 to Harborough.
Second quarter action saw a back and forth effort as the teams exchanged baskets. Some good defence from Dynamos produced some fast break points, and some of their bench got in on the action, Toby Copston and Tom Young both adding points. The visitors held an advantage of 28-33 at half-time.
However, the third quarter saw the Dynamos hit a scoring drought, as nothing seemed to drop.
Meanwhile Swadlincote’s free throws began to chip away at the lead.
As the quarter ended the Dynamos counted their blessings as they held a one-point lead, despite the drought, at 42-43.
The fourth quarter saw Dynamos’ David Lake and Charlie Kettle hit back-to-back three-pointers, to at least make the lead more secure.
But the home proved their resilience by continually getting to the basket and hitting their foul shots. They eventually took the lead and closed the game with a 64-56 scoreline, signalling a disappointing loss for Dynamos.
Scorers for the Harborough side were: Byron Wing 26, Nathanael Yousuf 14, Pete Radjoa 6, Charile Kettle 3, David Lake 3, Toby Copson 2, Tom Young 2.
