Ben bags a late boost for Borough

AN IMPRESSIVE cup run was continued by Borough Alliance under-11 Tigers as they overcame visiting Humberstone Rangers 2-1.

Yet again Borough allowed the opposition to get their noses in front, and, with a couple of injuries to contend with too, matters looked grim for the home side.

Special credit was due to Tigers’ man of the match Oscar Shearer-Rivera, who played creatively in midfield and then had to switch to cover in defence where he battled for every ball.

Borough gradually fought their way back, even with a man down, and eventually Joey Hazelwood equalised with a superb header from a lofted Ethan Haddon free-kick.

The fixture had entered its dying minutes when Ben Woodward put Tigers ahead but it still came close to a draw as a last-gasp Rangers goal was disallowed.
