Hill’s haul is no damp squib

HARD-HITTING Lewis Hill was a surprise century-maker on another damp weekend in the Leicestershire County Cricket League programme.

The Lutterworth batsman reached 104 not out after his team were put in away to premier division rivals Ashby Hastings.

But there was little lasting support along the way as the total was restricted to 204 for 9 off 50 overs. The next highest score came courtesy of the 32 extras.

However Hill’s haul was only rewarded with a winning draw as Ashby Hastings hung on in their reply with 124 for 7.

Hill continued his good work with the ball, taking a wicket for six runs off his three overs. Sam Green was the pick of the bowlers, with 3 for 25.
