County coach Ben helps junior section cap a cracking season

KIBWORTH CC’s junior presentation ceremony was attended by every age group from Kwik Cricket to under-17s.

Prizes were presented by Ben Smith, the Leicestershire batting coach, who gave advice and tips to the youngsters in a Q&A session.

Kibworth juniors have had another successful season, with the U11s and U15s finishing second in their respective south east league tables. The U13s won their league and the U17s landed two county cups.

No fewer than 17 Kibworth juniors represented the county in a variety of age groups from U10 to U17, and a number represented the south east district, reflecting the strength in depth of the junior section and the club’s high quality coaching.

Peter Booth, head of junior coaching for the past 19 years, announced his retirement as head coach, but he will continue to provide specialist coaching at the club.

Ex-Leicestershire and Essex player Tim Mason will replace him in a new role of director of cricket.
