Belton braces!

Fleckney Athletic u13 5 Aylestone Park 2

FLECKNEY Athletic under-13s secured their first points in the league’s top flight with a 5-2 victory over Aylestone Park.

After a tentative start by both sides, Aylestone took the lead with a speculative effort from 35 yards.

That seemed to kick-start Fleckney and after a series of attacks down the right Dan Belton latched on to a through-ball to head the equaliser.

At this stage it was all Fleckney and some fine link-up play between Harry Wells and Dan Belton saw them edge in front.

After half-time a quality corner from Will O’Brien enabled Ed Parker to lash the ball home, and ten minutes a Wells cross was converted by Belton, who went on to complete his hat-trick to make sure of the win.

Medbourne u10 3 Glen Villa 0

Medbourne continued their good early season form with a deserved win in their opening league fixture.

While their defence was expertly marshalled by captain Luc Burdett, Medbourne were able to take a first half lead through through a neat Ollie Marlow finish.

The same player grabbed two more goals in the second period to complete his hat-trick, but it was not a one man show – teamwork was the key on the day.

Lutterworth Whirlwind 0 Medbourne u11 3

Medbourne under-11s re-ignited their season with this fine away win, featuring goals by Bobby Arundell-Reid (two) and Harry Freeman.
