THE skippers of both Harborough sides hit hat-tricks to steer their teams to emphatic victories at the weekend.

A-team captain Rob Smith struck his first treble in seven seasons in the senior side’s goal
fest.

Top scorer Tim Chapman, Paul Moorhouse and Emma Roberts were also on target for the league high-fliers.

Harborough B started supremely well and were 3-0 up inside ten minutes – with all the goals being scored by their captain Fairbairn.

The visitors tried to get into the game but good play by Holland, Manisha, Spalding and Sleeman stopped them in their tracks.

Janine Sanders was on target next with a fine strike from the top of the D.

Harborough continued to create chances but were not able to increase their lead before half-time.

The visitors tried to assert themselves more but good defending by Parr, Dryer, Manley and Lewis nullified their attempts.

The second half was again dominated by the home team, who were playing some good hockey and creating chances, only to be thwarted by the posts, good goalkeeping and last-ditch defending.

They eventually scored their fifth goal with a good finish from Sarju, maintaining their 100 per cent start to the season.

The next game for Harborough B is against Rottweilers at Groby.
