BOROUGH bounced back from the shock of their cup defeat in the best possible way with this resounding league victory.

Borough u15 Falcons 1 FC Aztec 2
Falcons took on high-flying Aztec and were under pressure from the off.
But the defence, along with some excellent goalkeeping, kept them at bay for a long period.
Eventually Aztec broke through to take the lead but Borough continued to play good football and they were rewarded on the stroke of half-time when Tony Cole equalised.
The second half was much the same but a cruel twist saw Aztec take the lead as a speculative shot rebounded of the post and went into the net off the keeper.
Falcons could at least leave with heads held high after a strong performance. Their man of the match Thibaut Anglade.
Borough u13 Panthers 1 Ise Lodge Kites 12
Panthers struggled from the start against the table-toppers from Kettering.
Without a recognised keeper things were made harder, although stand-in keepers Matthew Butlin and Jacob Hazlewood both earned praise for their valiant efforts between the posts.
The Panthers’ goal was a beauty from Andrew Cox, who hammered the ball home following a fine move involving Nathan Sayers.
Grange Utd 10 Borough u14 Wolves 2
A weaken Wolves team found the going hard against tough-tackling opponents.
They fell behind early on but got a goal back through Matthew Bates.
Wolves shone in patches but squandered most of their chances. The other goal consolation came from hardworking Ollie Biddle, while Borough’s man of the match was Charlie Lockey.
Borough u15 Pumas 7 Birstall 2
Despite going behind early on, Pumas fought back hard to go in ahead at the break.
In the second half Borough quickly took control and ran out worthy winners with four goals from Will Nicholls and a Hayden Perry hat-trick.
Borough u14 Development School 1 Yate Town 0
Following the previous week’s demolition of Yate in the league, Borough could not find the same form in this cup match.
The deciding goal came after 20 minutes when Callum MacNicol split the defence with a superb ball and Ryan Kendall passed on for Sam Rogers to volley home.
Gloucester City 1 Borough u13 Development School 2
After a defeat to Gloucester in the league, the Borough group turned things around in the cup.
They again conceded an early goal but Steve McKenna’s fine equaliser sent confidence soaring.
In the second Borough took hold of the tie and got the winner when Brandon Wheatley reacted quickly to a loose ball and hammered the ball home.
