Roade 1 Harborough Town 3
A SUPERB second half performance saw Harborough continue their season unbeaten and consolidate second spot in the league.

An even first half saw Roade with the slope advantage but Town easily soaked up any pressure – then grabbed a goal just before the break when Adam Watson turned in a Tom Robson corner.

Unfortunately for Watson this was his last contribution as he suffered a serious head injury minutes later.

Harborough`s confidence grew after the break and Alex McMillan’s cross was volleyed in by Rob Barnett to extend the lead.

Harborough put the result beyond doubt when Craig Cassidy headed home from a corner. Their next match is on Saturday at Bowdens Park to Corby Pegasus (2pm).

Desborough Town went down to championship contenders St Ives Town at the weekend.

For almost the whole of the first period they looked capable of winning the match, but once they fell behind in the last minute of the first half there was only going to be one victor.

The reserves missed a penalty as they went down 2-1 at Huntingdon.

This Saturday the first team have no game while the reserves entertain Stotfold.

North Kilworth reserves finally lost their 100 per cent District League record when they lost 3-2 at fellow title-chasers Kingsway Rangers – despite taking the lead through Gareth Harris.

Kilworth’s first team also lost, 3-1 at home to Huncote.
