FOUR SWIMMING pools and fewer horse droppings are just two of the suggestions made by pupils at Mowsley Primary School who produced a scale model of the village.
The project was designed to let the pupils contribute towards the parish plan which is being set out with the help of the Rural Community Council.

The children used labels attached to cocktail sticks to show their suggestions which included four swimming pools and hopes of seeing fewer horse droppings in the road.

John Lacey, village heritage warden, usually organises a heritage day at the school but this term the day was used to build the model village.

He said: “The idea was to get the children involved with the parish plan in some way. We wanted them to suggest ideas for the village and some of them were really interesting.

“It was a very successful day and we hope the scale model will be displayed when the parish plan is launched in the future.”

A parish plan helps highlight village issues through research, surveys and consultations with the villagers which will produce an action plan for the future of the community including decisions on developments, transport and services.
