A PROTEST will be held outside the offices of Harborough District Council today (Thursday) to highlight opposition to a 1,800-home planning application for Airfield Farm.
Residents’ protest group MHRAID (Market Harborough Residents Against Inappropriate Development) are organising the demonstration outside the council offices in Adam and Eve Street from 5.45pm.
People from Harborough, Lubenham, Foxton, and Great Bowden will be joining together to express the level of objection to the 1,800 new homes proposal for the Airfield site on the outskirts of town.
The scrutiny committee of the council will be discussing the homes proposal inside the council chamber at 6.30pm.
As part of the protest, representatives of MHRAID plan to deliver a letter to council leader Michael Rook and cabinet member Janette Ackerley who will be at the meeting. The protesters want the council to vote for a wider review and are organising a forthcoming public meeting.
