A café in Tugby which opened nine months ago has become the home base for a professional women’s cycling team.

Café Ventoux features an apres ski meets cycling ambience.

Owners Brian and Rosie Jordan said: “As well as selling bikes and offering refreshments for cyclists, the café is in the process of becoming the Boardman Bikes experience centre for the whole country.

“This will mean that cyclist Chris Boardman will be leading rides from the café in the future.”

The café currently offer led cycle rides at the weekend via women only and mixed groups.

Last week, the café had a launch day for Podium Ambition, a professional female cycling team who are using Cafe Ventoux as their first base camp in the UK.

Brian and Rosie added: “We are currently successfully attracting cyclists from within a 70 mile radius. People are willing to cycle from Birmingham and Lincolnshire just to reach the café.”

Café Ventoux is located at Tugby Orchards, Wood Lane, Tugby.
