Police were called to a travellers’ site in Harborough last night (Thursday) to investigate a report of a malicious message made to people on the site.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing two police cars and one police van parked in the forecourt of the Greenacres travellers’ site on the A6 at about 10.35pm last night (Thursday).

A police spokesman told the Mail today: “In the interest of welfare, officers attended the Greenacres site in Harborough last night following a report of malicious communications being made to persons living on the site.

“No offences were identified and enquiries are ongoing into the report.”

Anyone with information is being asked to call the police on the 101 number of Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
