Orders have soared for a Harborough husband-and-wife team after a celebrity posted pictures of one of their necklaces on Twitter.
Sales of the silver heart necklace by Harborough jewellery-making firm IndiviJewels rocketed by 35 per cent after BBC Radio1 DJ Fearne Cotton posted pictures of herself on Instagram and Twitter wearing the necklace.
Fearne’s picture of the necklace, which is available with a personalised inscription, got nearly 10,000 likes on Instagram. Fearne has a significant reach via Twitter where she has five million followers.
The owners of IndiviJewels are a Harborough married couple who make and design the jewellery themselves and sell it via their website.
Stuart and Suzanne McGowan set up the venture seven years ago. Fearne said a freind had bought her the necklace as a present.
Suzanne said: “We only found out about it las week.
“She took the photo at the beginning of March. Fearne was given it as a present and she put it on her Instagram page and it got almost 10,000 likes.”
There are three different sizes of the heart necklace and Suzanne said people had been enquiring as to the exact size of Fearne’s necklace as they wanted the same one.
People can personalise the inscription on the inside of the heart so the message stays secret if the wearer wishes it to.
They start from £60.
IndiviJewels stocks a wide range of jewellery, for men and women ,much of which can be personalised with individual messages.
