What to look for in your Business telecoms - here are my top five pieces of advice to anyone signing up to a new telecoms contract or for anyone renewing.
Doug’s five top tips:
1. Avoid long-term contracts.
2. Avoid old-style fixed landlines and consider (Voice over IP) VoIP systems.
3. Switching is easy.
4. Think ahead, what will the costs be if your business expands?
5. Don’t accept less than what you want.
Suppliers are keen to lock you in – for good reason. What seems a great deal today may be less attractive in 12 months time, but you could be stuck for another 24 months.
“I wish I’d known before!” is something we hear regularly.
VoIP offers an array of benefits not available on traditional landlines.
If you’re still using such landlines you are likely paying over the odds for an inferior product.
Check your broadband will support VoIP. Anyone looking to move to an office or switch providers may worry about losing their number or being un-contactable for days.
The reality is 30 minutes downtime, so don’t let this stop you from switching. If you have growth aspirations you need a service that can grow with you.
VoIP can be added to your existing system so should be easier and cheaper.
From voice recording to virtual switchboards and intelligent call routing, you should be able to access the service you need. Check with your supplier – and switch if they can’t provide it.
