A driver has died following a crash on the A5199 near Arnesby last night (Monday).
The crash happened shortly after 6pm and involved one vehicle, a white Rover 414.
The driver of the vehicle received serious injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where they later died.
The person has not yet been formally identified, police said today (Tuesday).
Detective Constable Nick Bryan is investigating the collision.
He said: “The vehicle was travelling along the A5199 towards Leicester and had just gone past the village of Arnesby when it left the road and came to rest in a hedgerow.
“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help with our investigations.”
