Queen of creative baking and winner of The Great British Bake Off Frances Quinn has paired up with a prune producer to make some treats.
The California Prune Board has formed a partnership with Frances of Harborough who is designing two exclusive recipes for the business based in Harborough
After achieving success and national recognition as a result of the hit BBC programme, Frances came across California Prunes when she sampled them while demonstrating at the BBC Good Food Show in November last year.
Esther Ritson- Elliott, California Prune Board’s European marketing director, said: “We are so pleased to be working with Frances, as not only is she a celebrity, but she is also local to us.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to champion Market Harborough whilst working together to produce the most unique and exciting recipes.”
The first of Frances’ recipes for the Prune Board is a California Prune Panda Scone - which offer a treat for parents and children to make together and they are also a cunning way to get young ones to eat fruit.
Frances said: “California Prunes are naturally very sweet which means that you can substitute sugar for prunes in baking or mix both together for a healthier recipe.
“Also, I was interested to discover that just three prunes count as one of your five a day, and that is exactly how many is included in one of my Panda Scones, so you’re well on your way.”
