The winner of the Mail’s first ever Salon of the Year contest is...Naomi Nails & Beauty.
The contest was hotly-contested and relied on readers’ votes to determine the winner.
Founded in 2010, Naomi Nails & Beauty offers a wide range of nails, beauty and laser treatments.
Based at 14-16 Manor Walk in Harborough town centre, the salon underwent a major refurbishment in 2012.
The following year it expanded next door to create an Elemis day spa offering the peace and tranquillity that the bustling salon next door, which due to space and atmosphere, could not offer.
The team has more than 60 years’ experience in the industry between them. Its beauty therapists and nail technicians are all highly trained, fully qualified and undergo continuous training to keep up with the latest techniques.
The salon only works with leading brands such as Elemis, OPI, CND and Chromogenex, and all brands are carefully vetted beforehand.
Owner Naomi Tzirki qualified to master level with CND, the world’s leading nail brand, and worked in the industry for more than 17 years in some of Leicestershire’s leading salons prior to setting up her own business.
Her vision is to bring a London chic salon to Harborough.
Prior to opening the salon, she visited the best spas and salons across London including those in Mayfair and Bond Street – such as the Ritz and Dorchester – and also viewed many more in Dubai, the Caribbean, New York and Las Vegas to help create her vision.
The firm is a specialist nail salon but clients were increasingly asking for other services, hence the move into beauty.
Laser followed as this was seen by Naomi as the future in beauty therapy and there has been a shift towards aesthetic treatments in the last few years.
Naomi focuses on the little things that are often neglected such as clients being treated to the latest magazines, filtered water in their hot drinks, Nespresso coffee and organic milk. She has a very loyal client base, a lot of who travel not only from this county, but also from Leicester, London and Northampton.
She said: “We are absolutely delighted to win this award that recognises the hard work and dedication of our team of therapists.
“To win in an area as competitive as Harborough is an honour and I can only thank the hard work of my team and the loyalty of my clients.
“The most satisfying aspect of winning this great award, is that it is the ‘people’s award’ – voted for by the great British public.
“I just want to extend a big thank you to all those that helped make this happen.”
She dedicated the award to her father Patrick Liburd, who passed away last month.
“He was my inspiration and without him I would not be here today as he raised me single-handed and gave me the belief and drive to go on and fulfil my dream,” added Naomi.
