A community-minded taxi company in Harborough is offering free lifts to people wanting to attend this weekend’s bumper Foxton Locks Festival.

Kwik Cabs, which has been operating in the Harborough district for more than 18 years, is offering the free journeys to the festival (not the return journey) and will pick people up from the Angel Street car park off Fairfield Road, Harborough, between 10am and 5pm on both festival days - this Saturday and Sunday (June 21-22).

For more details about the free offer, phone the taxi firm, which is based on the Riverside Industrial Estate off Rockingham Road in town, on 01858 468777.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to Foxton Locks this weekend for the action-packed annual event.

There will be hundreds of trade and craft stalls as well as live music on stage from more than 20 acts (15 on the Saturday and six on the Sunday).

There will also be a Vikings/Saxons village, a large and varied collection of vintage vehicles and steam engines, a fun dog show on the Saturday afternoon, livestock exhibitions, fire dancers, hula-hoopers, ferret racing, a circus skills workshop, archery range, fun fair rides and games, and parrots, birds of prey and alpacas on display in a miniature zoo.

For further details about the festival, see the website www.foxtonlocksfestival.co.uk.
