A HOLLYWOOD-themed evening with Strictly Come Dancing stars will help to raise money for newly established charity The Squires Effect.

The charity was formed following the death of North Kilworth woman Claire Squires who died while running the London Marathon in April.

Her death prompted a worldwide fundraising drive which topped £1million.

Now a woman who was a customer of hairdresser Claire is holding an exciting event up north to raise funds for The Squires Effects.

Backing the Hollywood-themed event are Strictly Come Dancing stars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace.

Kerry Summers (47), who is organising the event, is from Coalville and her partner lives in Foxton.

Kerry said: “Claire had been my hairdresser for three years.

“She was just such a lovely girl.

“It was a huge shock to everybody when she died.

“All the different things she had done with her marathons and climbing Kilimanjaro. I just wanted to do something to carry on her legacy and the good work she has done.”

The event is being held at the four-star St Paul’s Hotel in Sheffield on Sunday, January 6.

Sheffield has been chosen as the venue because Kerry has lots of contacts across the UK through her role as is a regional development worker for beauty firm Decleor.

The Strictly stars are involved as Kerry knows Vincent through dance classes she started with him six years ago.

There will be a red carpet, fun casino, a chance to meet the dancers and food.

Tickets cost £40 and for a table of ten a group will get one place for free. To book a place, email
