BIN rounds missed due to the snow and ice will be collected as soon as possible, Harborough District Council has said,
All recycling and waste collections were suspended on Friday and Monday due to heavy snowfall.
Some bin collections took place yesterday (Tuesday) but the council said collection teams did not enter ‘side roads and estates where ice on roads posed safety issues’.
This is because bin collection vehicles weigh between 26 and 32 tonnes and can be dangerous if they slide on icy roads, the authority said.
“Further updates will be provided on the collection of missed bins from Friday to Tuesday as soon as possible, but arrangements are dependent upon the weather conditions in the next few days,” the council said.
