Another standout performance on The X Factor on Saturday night saw prison officer Sam Bailey progress through to another week of the show.
Sam received all round praise from the judges on the show as she performed Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’, the theme tune to the film Titanic.
Prior to her performance Sam told of how she had vowed never to sing the song again, after performing it at the age of 21 on a cruise ship while a storm raged outside.
As well as praise from the judges, Sam received a massive applause and a stream of praise for her performance on Facebook and Twitter.
Judge Gary Barlow said to Sam after she performed: “It’s this simple Sam. A couple of years ago I went to Las Vegas and I saw Celine Dion. You sang better than her.”
Nicole Scherzinger described Sam as being Britain’s own Celine Dion and judge Louis Walsh said that her performance had been note perfect.
Her mentor Sharon Osbourne said: “I’m really hoping and praying that Simon Cowell is watching this show because he needs to sign your bum right now.”
Sam, who is the only remaining contestant in Sharon’s Over-25s group, was trending on Twitter on Saturday night.
In the end it was Miss Dynamix who had to leave the contest this week after they lost in a sing off on Sunday night to Hannah Barrett.
