Residents applauded as councillors threw out plans for a new housing development in Harborough.
Charles Church homes submitted the application for 24 homes on land at the back of Waterfield Place, off The Ridgeway in Harborough.
Residents living nearby, backed by the district councillor for the area Phil Knowles, had opposed the plan, saying it was on separation land between Harborough and Great Bowden. And there was loud applause from the public gallery as the plan was given the thumbs-down on Tuesday.
Cllr Knowles said: “Had it been approved there would have been concern this could have signaled more intrusions into the separation land.”
