A Harborough police officer will be visiting the Alzheimer’s Society Carers’ Support Group in Market Harborough this Friday.
PC Catherine Keen will be sharing with the group the police’s response to issues relating to people with dementia and their carers.
Carers of people with dementia are welcome to attend the meeting, which takes place from 10am to midday this Friday, September 6, at Harborough Methodist Church’s coffee lounge in Northampton Road.
Alison Chaplin, the peer group support facilitator for the group, said: “The Carers’ Support Group offers a safe place to share experiences of caring for someone with dementia and to receive help and advice.
“I’ll be there to welcome any people who are visiting for the first time – it would be great to see some new faces there. There are more than 1,100 people living with dementia in the Harborough area, so carers needn’t feel they are alone.”
The support group is free and refreshments are provided.
