This week we have launched our fourth annual Pride in Harborough Awards to thank the many selfless people in the district community for the tremendous work they do.

With the support of local businesses, we will be holding a gala presentation evening in April where the award winners will be announced.

The Mail is again grateful to receive the support of Market Harborough Building Society who are the main awards sponsors.

There are ten categories in which to nominate people. They are:

*Young Achiever.

*Raising the Profile of the Town - sponsored by The Angel Hotel.

*Inspire a Generation.

*Fundraiser of the Year.

*Service with a Smile - sponsored by Adams & Jones.

*Excellence in Education.

*Friendly Neighbour.

*Care in the Community.

*Outstanding Example of Bravery.

*Unsung Hero - sponsored by CDS Global and,

*Community Investment Award.

The trophies are being sponsored by Regent Street Wrought Iron Works of Kettering.

Mail deputy editor Alex Blackwell said: “The awards are aimed at recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups who we know work so hard to make the Harborough district a special place to live and work.”

Among the big winners last year were Market Harborough Rotary Club, community radio station Harborough FM, scouts, teachers and carers.

A panel of judges will select the winners, who will receive their awards at the presentation evening at The Three Swans Hotel in Harborough on Thursday, April 10.

The deadline to nominate someone for an award is Friday, March 14.
