Highways bosses are proposing to make changes at an accident blackspot in Harborough.
Leicestershire County Council is proposing to prevent traffic from turning right off the A6 down Kettering Road, known locally as Clack Hill.
The move is in response to concerns from residents following a number of accidents at the site in recent years.
Notices have been placed around the area, with people given until the end of today (Thursday) to make any comments.
If the changes go ahead the junction will be changed and it would see the installation of a new verge in the middle of the road and a “no right turn” sign on the approach.
The subject was raised during a recent #Harboroughhour discussion on the social networking website Twitter.
Melanie Wisher said: “Right turn from A6 into Kettering Road should not be allowed. It’s an accident black spot.”
Harborough district and county councillor Sarah Hill later tweeted: “Residents asked for the turn to be reviewed due to accidents.”
The notice issued by the council says the proposal is part of a wider package of safety measures for the area.
