A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with chest injuries after a bird flew into him while he was riding near Naseby.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) flew to the scene shortly after 4pm on Sunday to help the 42-year old rider.
They said he was thrown to the ground after he hit the bird on his motorcycle while travelling at speed.
DLRAA received the call at 4pm and landed at the scene 15 minutes later.
DLRAA crew assessed the patient, who had sustained injuries to his chest.
The crew provided the patient much-needed pain relief and immobilised him before flying him to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire for further assessment.
