The leaders of Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council will hit the streets tomorrow (Tuesday, October 8).
Cllr Blake Pain, the leader of the Harborough authority, and his fellow conservative Cllr Nick Rushton, leader at County Hall, will be under the Old Grammar School in Church Square, Harboorugh, from midday.
They want to hear first hand people’s views on a range of subjects.
Cllr Rushton said: “I want to be approachable and accountable – I know that, for county council services, the buck stops with me.
“That’s why I’m keen to find out, face to face, what matters to local people. I’ve had a series of these events already in other towns and I’m looking forward to meeting Harborough residents next week.”
Cllr Pain said: “This is a great opportunity to meet people, face-to-face and hear about their concerns – it’s what democracy is all about. I’m pleased that Nick can join me, showing how the district and county councils work closely together.”
