A LANDOWNER has been issued with a legal notice to stop dumping logs on fields in the Lutterworth area.

A mound of logs was spotted last week between the villages of PeatlingParva and Bruntingthorpe.

A County Hall spokesman said: “Following complaints, we served notice on the landowner requiring that the tipping of wood and other waste is halted.

“Using statutory powers under the Town and Country Planning Act, we have given the owner a legal Stop Notice that means tipping must stop immediately, and a further notice requiring that the waste be removed and the land restored.”

The notice came into force at midnight on Monday.

Council planning officers visited the site on Tuesday to check that the tipping had ceased.
