A jazz group from a Harborough school has won the national Rotary Young Musician competition for the sixth time.
Robert Smyth Academy’s Jazz Band represented the East Midlands in the Rotary Club contest on Sunday, March 2.
The band beat teams from Magdalen College and Manor School to take the overall trophy.
The band is taught and led by Robert Smyth’s head of music Helle Petersen. She has had so many triumphs with the band over the years that last year she was awarded a special shield by the Rotary Club of Harborough to recognise her efforts.
