PEOPLE have been urged to keep listening to weather forecasts and traffic alerts, as sustained rainfall rises the possibility of further flooding in Leicestershire.
The county and district councils, the police and fire services and the Environment Agency are already working together to respond if flood alerts become actual incidents
Duty teams from local councils and agencies are in place to respond if flooding develops over the Christmas period.
Drivers are urged to respect any road closures and not to attempt to drive through floodwater, to avoid becoming trapped. Pedestrians are urged not to walk through floods, in case drain covers have become dislodged.
